Hunt Country Market and Deli, a gem along Garth Road
Hunt Country Market and Deli, a gem along Garth Road
We’re incredibly lucky in the Charlottesville area that local country markets are still open for business. A favorite of the northwestern crowd is the Hunt Country Market and Deli, found just
west of Foxfield on Garth Road, on the corner of Free Union Road. It’s good all day, but it’s great every evening… there’s a daily dinner special that’s hard to beat. A small but good wine selection is also available.
Eat on site on the charming patio area, or take out. Find details on their Facebook page.
Map it here.

Mother’s Day Weekend in Charlottesville is truly jam-packed!
Mother’s Day Weekend in Charlottesville is truly jam-packed! Beginning with a little bit of the big Soul Transit Authority at the Pavilion at the east end of the Downtown pedestrian mall on Friday evening, continuing with our beloved Crozet Arts & Crafts Festival throughout the weekend and a fabulous Wine Festival at Monticello on Saturday evening, and wrapping up with to-die-for brunch events throughout the region (read about more than a few at the Charlottesville Visitor Center’s website). There are other simpler events going on all weekend as well, from vineyard tours to nature hikes and plays. And, then, there’s always the opportunity to see if Mom has what it takes at The Paramount’s own “Idol Competition”! It’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend. We’ll be starting at the Charlottesville City Market Saturday morning and then, who knows! Read more
